This adapter will allow you to connect a computer or AV device with VGA output to a monitor with a DVI input, or vice versa.
It is important to check that the DVI connection on the device or cable you wish to use matches the DVI connection shown in the photograph.
A little about video signals:
VGA signals are analogue signals, HDMI signals are digital. DVI connectors can carry either type. This adapter will work between a device using a VGA connection and a device with a DVI connection that uses an analogue signal. This is most easily identified by looking for the four small pins set around the wide blade connector.
If your device or cable does not have these four pins, this adapter will not work for you.
